Baby Registry…Should I or Shouldn’t I?

baby family friends gifts guideline list mom online parents registry shopping stores village

baby registryYou're beyond excited that you’re having your first baby! There are a thousand things going through your head. Boy or girl? Gender reveal or surprise? Bassinet or crib? Breastfeed or formula?

There are so many decisions to make, but there are some that can be made easier with the click of a button or wave of a wand. It’s a baby registry! You can choose all their clothing, bedding, and play needs online or by going into a store. Whichever outlet you choose, they will make your life much easier by giving you a guideline or list of everything you can possibly need. All you have to do is choose the colors, patterns, and styles that you want.

There will be a baby shower or two, so a registry is a great way to let everyone know what you need and want for your precious little one. Since not all outlets offer the same things, you can have registries at different locations so family and friends can choose where they want to purchase their gifts. Plus, the registries keep track of which items are purchased to avoid duplication's.

If you’re unsure of what you REALLY will need, ask your closest family and friends that have gone through this experience for their advice.  You may not need receiving blankets in every color imaginable and 12 sets of baby sheets for the crib. Count on your family and friends to give you the best advice. They have been through it and know what is needed and what might be “fluff” that isn't necessary.

So go and have fun going through the stores and touching and feeling what you want for your baby. Really enjoy that part of it…relish in it…and invite your hubby or partner to go with you! Also, don't forget about you, mom. Add something on the registry that you may need or want, as parents, to make your life a little easier.

Once you’ve completed your registry, sit back and enjoy your pregnancy! Have no fear that you will get what you need to bring that beautiful child home to a cozy home that’s been prepared with love from his parents and the “village” that will help raise him.
